GCG Regional Sales Director - Industrial Automation - Michigan in Michigan
Overview
GCG is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic Regional Sales Director to join our Automation and Factory Solutions Division and lead our sales team in the Michigan area.
The ideal candidate will be a customer-focused sales leader with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams and fostering profitable customer relationships . We're looking for someone with extensive experience in industrial distribution and automation, coupled with strong P&L and forecasting skills . As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for evaluating performance metrics, collaborating across departments, and implementing strategic sales initiatives. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of adapting to our evolving, growth-oriented culture while mentoring and coaching sales talent to achieve exceptional results. This role will requires 35% to 50% travel to facilitate regular visits various company locations, industry events, and customer and vendor meetings. To facilitate ease of this, location in the Central Michigan area is highly preferred.
What you’ll do:
Continually evaluate sales, revenue, backlog, and other performance metrics; identify areas of high performance as well as those for improvement
Monitor Salesforce to remain aware of opportunity pipeline funnel across sales teams
Collaborate across business verticals and departments to integrate sales activities across the company
Identify and manage leading and lagging indicators to drive profitable employee behaviors
Establish and develop account relationships and cultivate relationships with key personnel to influence and execute strategic direction with these accounts
Offer counsel and insight to market trends and competitive activity and other factors that may affect sales within the area
Plan, analyze, and implement projects using data analytics tools for key sales initiatives
Provide and drive a vision of cross-functional sales planning, category management, finance, marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure delivery of relevant innovation and key initiatives
Ensure GCG products are in the right channels by designing end-to-end go-to market partnerships with supply and demand planning
Provide customer/channel expertise and leadership to drive the development the appropriate strategic and tactical plans within the business segment
Demonstrate a strong executive presence to be effective in front of customers, prospects, partners and future talent
Leverage a successful track record of engaging all levels in an organization, from functional level up to C-level executives
Collaborate closely with direct reports on implementing new business development and growth in mature markets
Develop sales plans for targeted accounts, sub-regions and vertical segments in the region
Deliver on direct sales targets while recruiting and managing a team of top sales talent in the Region
Identify strategic customer pains and develop unique and compelling value propositions that focus on delivering business value to the customer
Fulfill leadership and management responsibilities including hiring, training, performance assessments, coaching and mentoring.
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field and retail, sales or management experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years’ experience in sales leadership, including directly managing high-performance sales teams
Previous experience in sales/sales leadership in industrial distribution, industrial automation and/or the automotive business market
Demonstrated ability to create strategy against P&L performance
Proven record of developing and coaching a team, while navigating through an evolving organization
Excellent negotiating and influencing skills with both internal and external parties
Ability to think strategically, define business opportunities and problems; collect, interpret, and analyze abstract and concrete information; and create strategic, value-add solutions
Expert knowledge of the industry and market trends, and the ability to tie merchandise plan into forecasts and execute accordingly
Advanced leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to encourage and promote growth and development of sales managers, team members, and the business
Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act comfortably with risk and uncertainty
