General Summary(What is done and why)
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the overall quality and test strategy and supporting processes at UFCU encompassing enterprise and departmental project testing. Working with project managers and business analysts, they lead cross-functional project team members in the design, planning and execution of the quality/testing plan for a given project/product, ensuring creation and successful execution of test scripts as well as traceability to requirements.
Essential Functions, in Priority Order (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
Oversee best practices and templates for quality and test documentation creation, review, and sign-off (strategies, test plans, test schedules, test cases, defect logs, et al.) S upport cross-functional business teams in creating reusable test assets. Ensure artifacts adhere to standards and audit requirements. Time: 20%
Develop test requirements, concepts and test strategies based on system and business functional requirements related to areas such as Testing Automation, Software Development testing, Third-Party Vendor System testing and Test Data Generation. Time: 20%
Lead cross-organizational project team members and third-party vendors in delivery of test planning, preparation, and execution of all test activities on assigned projects. Execute hands-on testing. Implement staging and/or conditioning test data as required. Monitor test-related issues and risksTime: 40%
Document requirements traceability throughout testing to ensure the delivered system fulfills the business need. Time:10%
Assist in developing and writing standard operating procedures. Mentor coworkers to provide growth opportunities and support succession planning.Time: 5%
Participate on cross-functional teams as assigned.Time: 5%
Qualifications
Education(Minimum education required to perform the duties of this position)
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or two years of related experience required
Industry recognized quality assurance certification (e.g. CTFL, CAST, etc.) required, or obtained within first 6 months of employment
Project management certification (Project+, CAPM, PMP, etc.) a plus
Experience(Minimum experience required to perform the duties of this position)
In additionto the education requirement:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Test Management required.
Experience managing QA testing functions on large scale projects preferred
Experience with common PPM tools and Azure DevOps a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities(Minimum experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position)
Knowledge in Quality Assurance and Test Management required
Knowledge in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes a plus
Thorough understanding of end-to-end quality and testing processes, techniques, and tools
Considerable experience with SQL Query/Test Data Generation
Competent and efficient in the use of productivity tools such as MS Word, Excel, Visio, and OneNote
Demonstrated ability to lead and drive work across cross-functional teams
Demonstrated ability to partner and influence team members and stakeholders with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach

Physical Demands(Physical effort generally associated with this position)
Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most work is done from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from prolonged work at the computer. Individual must be able to travel to complete applicable assignments, projects and training. Deadlines, workloads and pressure to achieve goals may cause increased stress levels.
Working Conditions(Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position)
Internal-- work is normally performed in climate-controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.) No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of duties. Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required to accommodate deadlines or special meetings.
