Job Summary
Responsible for providing quality and technical support for chemical products to engineering, R&D, product management, marketing, sales, and external customers.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Assists R&D with new product development, value analysis, value engineering (VAVE), and quality control evaluations through application trials.
Documents all test results, inspections, and observations. Prepares and maintains quality control reports and records.
Conducts training sessions using product presentations for chemical and cement products. Collaborates with the team to develop technical literature, labels, and marketing brochures.
Develops and creates applied product samples for use as sales tools.
Supports sales representatives with on-site assistance and troubleshooting of product issues. Provides backup telephone support for sales representatives.
Contributes to the development of product specifications.
Trains others in the operation of equipment used for the application of construction materials. Calibrates testing equipment to ensure accurate results.
Actively participate in industry organizations to increase visibility and influence. Assist product and sales teams with specific projects as assigned.

Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Knowledge of testing methods and industry standards.
Familiarity with testing equipment such as slump cones, air meters, and compression machines.
