We are looking for a dynamic New Product Development (NPD) Reliability Engineer to join our team! The ideal candidate is an experienced reliability engineer, seeking an exciting product development opportunity where the primary responsibility will be to bring Design for Reliability (DFR) concepts, and engineering development expertise to our Systems Engineering team.

The primary responsibility for this position is to institutionalize fundamental reliability concepts in the design and development of our next generation Hematology IVD platforms, as well as provide support for continuing improvement projects on our legacy product portfolio. The NPD Reliability Engineer will be a critical team member working with systems engineering on programs developing new products, and in supporting legacy instrumentation product design changes in order to ensure low warranty costs and high customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of reliability tasks through monitoring progress, providing technical direction, and problem solving solutions.

  • Work directly with systems/development engineers to define selection and implementation of reliability engineering tools

  • Analyze, summarize, present, and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make recommendations

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical, Systems Engineering (or equivalent) with 10+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR Doctoral degree with 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level

  • Experience in key reliability tools such as Reliasoft or equivalent software package

  • Experience with failure analysis tools to successfully identify root cause

  • Technical ability to understand architecture, system interactions and interfaces of a complex Hematology system (reagents, hardware, and software) to drive effective use of reliability engineering tools

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Prior working experience in an FDA-regulated environment, especially in IVD industry

  • Prior working experience with requirements of ISO 14971, Application of Risk Management to Medical Devices

  • Prior experience in developing urinalysis, hematology, clinical chemistry, immunoassay, and other IVD instrumentation
