The Registered Nurse 2 delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service while ensuring population-specific patient care. The Registered Nurse 2 oversees nurses and allied health staff in their daily practice.

Location : UMHC SCCC Inpatient

The University of Miami UMHC/SCCC - Inpatient Department has an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse::

  • will be a professional registered nurse who standard chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, research study and non-chemotherapy medications.

  • He/she will administer care to oncology patients as well as with multiple disease process and research study patients.

  • Performs assessments and reassessments focusing on the physical and psychosocial health status of the patient in an ongoing timely and systematic manner.

  • Obtains information utilized for the development of individualized patient plan of care.

  • Provides direct and indirect patient and family care to assess needs.

  • Facilitates/patient/family education with interdisciplinary team involvement.

  • Monitors patient’s progress against plan of care until discharge from designated patient care area.

  • Coordinates the plan of care with patients, family and interdisciplinary team.

  • Ensures the plan of care is accessible to the patient and family to assist them in understanding goals of care and movement toward these goals.

  • Acts as a liaison between patients, caregivers and community resources.

  • Educates interdisciplinary team, patient/family on plan of care.

  • Consistently maintain complete confidentiality of all medical, financial, employees, computer and other sensitive materials, which may violate HIPAA regulations and/or jeopardize the privacy of others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN required

  • Valid Florida Registered Nurse License, BLS/ACLS certifications

  • Minimum of two years recent oncology experience

  • Recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents

  • Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course

  • Oncology certification preferred
