The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Project Manager, Research Support. The Project Manager, Research Support coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversees and manages Population Sciences (PS) research portfolio and ensure research protocols are executed appropriately. Serves as project liaison to other departments, SDG chairs, Principal Investigators and Sylvester Cancer Control members. Works closely with all SDG managers, CRS directors, research coordinators, PS and ORS team members, SCCC IT and PRMC on submission of new study protocols and study amendments and continuations for active studies. Attends study meetings to represent the research unit and grow in knowledge of data quality and the regulations governing research. Coordinates and oversees routine activities of research studies including data maintenance, quality assurance improvement, project evaluation, and meeting scheduling. Establishes and updates timelines and processes to guide implementation of protocols. Controls quality of source documentation and research integrity. Manages research databases and follows data management plan. Coordinates all training and mentoring activities for Population Sciences within SCCC and UM. Coordinates, manages, and delegates data collection and maintenance for research and training activities. Assists in the performance of analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets. Identifies areas for improvement within daily functions, internal procedures, and interactions for Population Sciences and Cancer Disparity (PSCD) group. Interacts with project team members to define submission logistics and workflow scheduling. Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Presents studies’ results at professional scientific meetings and conferences.5. Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals.6. Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and relevant work experience

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
