The Specialty Pharmacy located in Medley has an opportunity for a full time Pharmacist. The Pharmacist conducts drug utilization review studies and consults with medical practitioners on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors. The incumbent works closely with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and guidance about the effects of prescription drugs, and help plan effective drug therapy programs.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Works collaboratively with all healthcare providers to optimize patient care.2. Advises physicians on the inherent dangers of drugs, incorrect prescription doses, and their eventual side effects. 3. Promotes improvement in drug usage and dosage and provides supervision to therapeutic procedures for best results.4. Coordinates the Pharmacy’s duties, including the preparation, labeling, and delivery of various medications or supplies according to prescriptions.5. Ensures all dispensed drugs are recorded and delivered in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.6. Observes and treats patients in all healthcare settings and conducts research to further pharmaceutical care and advance the treatment and prevention of disease.7. Individualizes medication regimens while accounting for pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic variations in drug absorption.8. Suggests improvement in work methods.9. Conducts and evaluates medication histories, assesses compliance, and suggests modifications to achieve desired outcomes.10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.     CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:Pharm.D. degree

    Certification:

    Licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Florida

    Experience:Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:• Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.• Commitment to the University’s core values.• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
