The Advanced Technician will be a critical team member working cross-functionally in supporting new and legacy instrumentation in cost reduction and sustainment. They are responsible for leading and driving priorities in the lab and communicating with project leads .

This position is part of the Value Engineering (VAVE)/ Sustaining Engineering department located in Kendall, FL, and will be onsite. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the VAVE Global Team and report to the Senior Manager of Value Engineering, responsible for optimizing the value of products and processes within Bec DX Diagnostics to ensure cost efficiency, product quality, and innovation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Modify existing parts and assemblies for engineering changes or program improvements.

  • Operate and maintain a variety of diagnostic and reference instrumentation

  • Assist in the design and development of tooling and fixtures required to perform work for engineering changes.

The essential requirements include:

  • Associate degree (AA) in mechanical/electrical engineering or closely related field with 6+ years of experience in constructing and debugging electro-mechanical and fluidic systems and subsystems, preferably in a medical device/diagnostic.

  • Must be able to read, interpret engineering drawings, computer-aided design (CAD) files, technical documents, and manuals

  • Experience using laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Creation of bills of materials, assembly documentation, installation instructions, and drawings

  • Knowledgeable in GD&T tolerance/dimensioning.

  • Strong computer skills. Familiar with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
