CiTi BOCES Project Explore Secondary Math Teacher (Alternative Education) in Mexico, New York
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated secondary Math Teacher to join our Project Explore program. The Project Explore program provides students with an opportunity to explore various vocational mediums encouraging interest in both school and vocational programming. Students will exit the program with an employability profile and portfolio that may be utilized upon seeking employment or added to upon potentially entering a Career and Technical Education Program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high school students in a non-traditional setting and a strong commitment to helping all students achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging math curriculum tailored to the needs of alternative education students.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with other educators, counselors, and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in alternative education and math instruction.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Mathematics.
Experience working in an alternative education setting is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of diverse learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
