CiTi BOCES Administrative Intern in Mexico, New York

The Administrative Intern will support an inclusive, caring and supportive school community by focusing on the academic, social and emotional needs of our stakeholders. The internship is a full-year, full-time opportunity which includes multiple leadership opportunities for the successful candidate. Opportunities include assisting with the administration of our Career & Technical Education (CTE), and Exceptional & Alternative Education programs. This role includes supervising students, guiding staff, facilitating meetings, and managing Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).The intern will work closely with CiTi leadership to ensure alignment of instructional practices with district and state requirements, while promoting a positive and productive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Student Supervision and Support:

  • Supervise students participating in CiTi programs, ensuring adherence with school policies, code of conduct and safety standards.

  • Provide support to students, offering guidance and addressing concerns related to academic and social and emotional development.

  • Assist in the monitoring of student progress and the implementation of intervention strategies through MTSS.

    1. Staff Guidance and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure that instructional practices meet curriculum standards.

  • Support staff with instructional strategies, classroom management, and student engagement techniques, specific to hands-on learning & CTE.

  • Provide feedback and assistance to staff in the planning and delivery of high-quality programs.

    1. Meeting Facilitation:
  • Plan and facilitate meetings with staff, students, and external stakeholders.

  • Communicate program updates, address concerns, and gather feedback to improve program outcomes.

  • Assist with the coordination of professional development for staff to improve instructional techniques and student engagement.

    1. Administrative Support:
  • Assist in the development of program policies, procedures, and schedules.

  • Assist with staff evaluations.

  • Support the recruitment and placement of students in programs, working with external partners and employers as needed.

    1. Compliance and Reporting (specific to NYSED approved CTE programs):
  • Support CTE administration in ensuring CTE programs meet state and federal regulations, including reporting and data collection.

  • Assist with preparation of reports for district leadership, NYSED, and accreditation bodies.

    1. Other duties as assigned by internship supervisors

Job Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a certificate of advanced studies in Educational Leadership.

  • Strong skill sets of: organization, communication, collaboration, problem-solving utilizing creativity, empathy, and leadership.

  • Familiarity with MTSS processes and student support systems.

  • Experience in secondary education, including Career & Technical Education and/or Special Education is preferred, but not required.

  • Knowledge of CTE programs, CLNA & Perkins processes, are a plus.
