Position Overview:

As part of the talented Brunswick Internal Audit team, you will join a diverse team comprised of very skilled, resourceful, and dynamic professionals focused on providing value to the business units and Brunswick Corporation as a whole. This team is committed to utilizing core competencies, leveraging shared knowledge and experience, and continuing professional growth through completion of the Annual Audit Plan and staying abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and compliance requirements.

At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. As a Staff Auditor you will:

  • Participate in reviews/audits of business processes supporting operational and financial activities

  • Perform and document detail test of controls utilizing the COSO control framework and International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (The Standards)

  • Provide assistance to the company’s external auditors by performing reliance testing and direct assistance work that supports the Company’s assessment of internal controls per Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX)

  • Identify, evaluate, and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and improve efficiency

  • Document audit results in a neat and organized manner consistent with established department standards

  • Aid in preparing audit reports to concisely communicate audit results, recommendations/observations, and management action plans

  • Perform or assist with special projects / investigations as they arise

Required Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree required with a major or concentration in accounting, finance and/or business administration, etc.

  • Experience : 1 – 2 years of work experience in finance and accounting functions

  • Essential Skills & Competencies :

  • Soft Skills

  • Ability to work well with colleagues and business contacts of varying abilities and backgrounds

  • Proficient in building productive, collaborative, and beneficial business relationships

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform detailed work independently and under pressure

  • Flexibility to switch priorities and projects promptly and efficiently in response to rapidly changing audit situations

  • Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of general business systems, practices, and control techniques

  • Working knowledge of the COSO control framework, generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is a plus

  • Ability to review and analyze facts and trends to formulate practical recommendations for control deficiencies and improvement opportunities

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access), Visio, Diligent GRC and Oracle is a plus

  • Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires ( 30-40% ) travel to various Brunswick Corporation locations both within and outside the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 years of work experience in public accounting or internal audit is preferred

  • Manufacturing industry experience is preferred

  • Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CMA, CFE, CISA) preferred

  • Data Analytics experience is a plus
