Job Description
Primary Job Function:
This newly created position will be responsible for gross-to-net accounting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, processes and standard operating procedures. The scope of the role will cover the entire U.S. Therapeutics organization with $50+ Billion of rebates/discounts annually and balance sheet reserves of $10+ Billion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong compliance mindset and a relentless desire for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead SOX compliance for all gross-to-net accounting internal controls
Oversee financial and operational gross-to-net policies
Manage gross-to-net accounting standard operating procedures
Assess operational impacts and drive implementation of new legislation, rules and regulations including processes, systems and data strategy governance
Partner with AbbVie’s internal SOX compliance team, internal auditors and external auditors
Position Accountability/Scope:
Coordinate and ensure alignment occur across various pricing teams such as contracting, government, price forecasting
Operate independently to accomplish the goals and responsibilities of the position, however interaction with finance leadership is critical due to the nature of the role.
Serve as an internal subject matter expert on gross-to-net accounting processes, providing where necessary education and training of business partners.
Qualifications
Essential:
Proven track record in the pharmaceutical industry and Sarbanes-Oxley controls, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
Ability to interact with and support senior level management and to partner effectively and independently in a matrix organization.
Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to consistently provide clear and concise information.
Ability to manage workload to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.
Ability to make decisions without complete information or with ambiguity and uncertainty.
Desired:
BS (required) or Masters (preferred) in Accounting or Finance.
CPA/CMA (preferred)
Public accounting background and experience with SOX audits is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of U.S. health care systems and pricing environment is highly desirable.
Experience working with gross-to-net accounting systems.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
