Job Description

The Associate Director, Market Access Marketing – VRAYLAR, will be responsible for the development and execution of US Market Access strategies and tactics for VRAYLAR, an oral atypical antipsychotic indicated for several mental health disorders.

Working as a member of AbbVie’s US Market Access organization, this individual will lead strategies and tactics related to payer value propositions and marketing mix, with the goal of ensuring appropriate patient access to VRAYLAR across all US payer channels (i.e. Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA). This role will function as the US Market Access subject matter expert as part of and in collaboration with members of the VRAYLAR Integrated Brand Team, including Brand Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and HEOR, among other cross-functional teams. This individual will be expected to leverage data, analytics, and a strong strategic mindset in all assigned areas of the marketing and contracting components of the business, including providing positive leadership and alignment to the AbbVie Ways of Working.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop Payer positioning and pricing strategy for VRAYLAR across US payer channels within a highly genericized and competitive market.

  • Formulate and adjust Market Access business plans and actions to achieve Psychiatry franchise business and financial market access objectives and goals.

  • Develop and execute Market Access Marketing strategies and tactics, including Payer Value Propositions, to accomplish access-specific objectives throughout the lifecycle of the brand.

  • Proactively monitor and engage on US government and/or payer policy that has the potential to affect access to VRAYLAR.

  • Focus on and triangulate market dynamics, constituents’ needs, and business priorities to determine best, market-advantaged course of action.

  • Effectively orchestrate communication and drive strategic alignment across multiple stakeholders, including the US Market Access Leadership team, Account Management teams, VRAYLAR Brand team, Medical Payer Strategy (MPS), HEOR, Marketing Analytics and Business Insights (MABI), Finance, Sales, and Government Affairs/Advocacy teams.

  • Develop and execute communication plans and associated content to regularly update key internal stakeholders about Vraylar-specific Market Access topics (i.e. Brand and Market Access leadership).

  • Will share leadership responsibilities for key cross-functional business updates, including but not limited to SP2 (Strategic and tactical planning), brand Fast Start, and brand Ops meetings.

Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 7 years of combined pharmaceutical experience, including US Managed Healthcare (Market Access), Marketing, and/or Sales

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive results

  • Thorough understanding of reimbursement and payer environment

  • Strong knowledge of Health Economics and Real-world Evidence

  • Customer-centric mindset

  • Strong communication skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Experience in multiple US Payer channels: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Institutional and other Gov’t (i.e. VA / DOD)

  • Experience in multiple US reimbursement modalities: buy and bill, retail, specialty, institutional and government

  • Previous Psychiatry experience

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
