Job Description
The Associate Director, Field Tools & Analytics is responsible for sales tools strategy, resourcing, implementation, socialization and training that enable Oncology: Franchise A+E sales forces to be more effective and efficient. The role is also responsible for providing the teams with alignment and mapping support both during regularly cyclical operations as well as in support of sales force restructures. Acting as the Field Tools Team liaison between sales & marketing leadership, Commercial Operations, IT, Training, OEC, Legal, Med/Reg, research/analytics to oversee the design, deployment, training, communications, and management of the Field Tools.
This is a hybrid role and requires the ability to commute to our Mettawa, IL office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
Franchise Management
Subject Matter Expert (SME) and central point of contact for the Oncology: Franchise A+E field tools. This includes supporting the on-boarding of new sales franchise teams, new hires, and transfers to the field.
Proactively partner with business stakeholders to review, discuss, and prioritize system enhancement & business process improvement recommendations.
Operations Management: Support weekly and monthly tool updates as needed. Collaborate with Targeting, IC Teams, and development teams on data methodology, approach, framing, enhancements, field feedback, and new requests from all Oncology: Franchise A+E franchises.
System Management
Works closely with key Business, IT, OEC, Regulatory and Legal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are well defined and approved.
Demonstrates subject matter expertise relating to Abbvie business rules, processes and all field tools. Proactively recommends improvements to streamline current processes and reduce cycle time.
Leverages field network on co-creation of new processes and solutions.
Project Management
Cross functional leadership across the CA&O organization and IT to roll out projects within defined scope and schedule.
Develops project plans that integrate and align with cross departmental processes and project schedules, acts as a resource to provide innovative solutions, mitigate risks, manage customer priorities, and delivers solutions to improve field force effectiveness.
Strategic Planning
Partners with internal and external partners to define long range strategic plans for the field tools that helps drive in field team effectiveness, responding ably to all business needs as they arise.
Infuse a customer focused mindset to deliver solutions and/or reduce current offerings thus ensuring field teams have everything they need to succeed and only what they need to succeed.
Communications and Training
Subject Matter expert working in conjunction with the National sales managers and Training Team members to identify training/education and communications opportunities to pull through system use.
Partner with key stakeholders to define and manage the deployment approach, with updates to increase awareness and pull through system use.
Present at sales force team calls, provide support during field meetings, assist in facilitating focus groups, and present systems capabilities to key internal stakeholders.
Customer Relationship Management
Create and maintain a wide and deep network of relationships across senior sales stakeholders to include VP's, Sales Directors, Analytics leadership, and Field Planning & Analytics.
Viewed as a trusted partner and has established credibility with field sales management and functional support teams. Ability to influence key stakeholders to gain approval on strategic initiatives. 2
Extensive experience in understanding the underlying business needs and translating to holistic field sales technology solutions.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree required. Master's degree in business or science preferred
8+ years’ Field Tools and Analytics experience, preferable in the pharmaceutical sector
Project management experience (including leadership of a significant cross-functional projects), marketing or sales operations or information technology
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is required
Strong storytelling and presentation skills are required
Recent Oncology sales experience is preferred
Experience working with and directing IT teams with programming and development requirements is strongly preferred
Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, compliance regulations and standards preferred
Veeva/Salesforce.com experience preferred
Experience with mapping and alignment software preferred
Confidence in providing subject matter expertise to Senior Leadership, Sales Leadership, and other high-level contacts
Ability to develop and deliver training and communications to large and small audiences
Experience in developing, deploying, and managing effective IT systems, quality control procedures, and comfort in directing analytic efforts

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
