Summary of Position:

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for completion of the day-to-day activities involving installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of the production facility and related equipment and machinery, including blown film extrusion lines, to support the production process and achieve Dallas Plastics business goals and quality production standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform highly diversified duties to repair, maintain, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.

Preforming preventive maintenance in conjunction with maintaining production equipment during production.

Reviews work orders, prioritize them, and perform the work in a professional manor.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations of repair.

Perform simple machinist skills for fabricating parts as needed

Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, test and adjust the machines.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, machines, facilities and faulty equipment.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Capable of performing all the duties of a Maintenance Helper

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Product Safety / Quality Responsibilities:

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial

Blown film extrusion experience desire

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing duties, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
