Actalent Cad Operator in Mesa, Arizona

Job Title: CAD OperatorJob Description

We are seeking a skilled CAD Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will modify base files, address internal redlines, manage construction notes, program automated annotations, and prepare various profiles and sheets. This role requires advanced knowledge of Civil 3D, Microsoft Suites, and Bluebeam, with a focus on single-family residential projects.

Responsibilities

  • Modify base files.

  • Address internal, non-design-related redlines with minimal direction.

  • Perform advanced editing and management of construction notes.

  • Program automated annotation and dimensions on plan documents.

  • Prepare sheet cuts with directions.

  • Create sheet set manager (.dst file creation).

  • Create storm, water, and sewer profiles in sheets from the pipe network.

  • Create paving profiles from ASE, including branching profiles and importing to sheets and viewports.

  • Use parcel manager to annotate lot numbers, tract names, etc.

  • Review cover sheets and note sheets for accuracy.

  • Create detail sheets.

  • Prepare exhibits, erosion control plans, and basic quantity takeoffs.

  • Understand and implement municipal standards with direction.

  • Understand and follow CAD standards.

  • Conduct QA/QC appropriate for this level position.

  • Complete timecards accurately and on time.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Achieve an 85-90% Billable Utilization Rate, with non-billable activities including company & team meetings, professional development, community involvement, innovation time, culture & engagement activities, learning, and training.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of civil experience.

  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and Bluebeam (6/10 rating).

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suites, StormCAD, ACE, and Storm Water.

  • Experience in single-family residential projects.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Civil 3D or Land Development Desktop for land development projects.

  • Experience coordinating between AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HEC-RAC.

  • Attention to detail and strong time-management skills.

  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of CAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

The role requires full-time in-office presence for the first 90 days, with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule based on performance reviews. The candidate must be able to stand, walk, and sit, with occasional visits to project sites. The position requires lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally and prolonged sitting with some bending and reaching. Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and calculator is necessary. The noise level is consistent with a standard office environment.
