Insight Global Assistant Project Manager (Federal) in Merritt Island, Florida

Job Description

A client of Insight Global, and a leading electrical and general construction contractor (specializing in medium high-voltage, complex critical power, and general construction projects), is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to their team in Merritt Island as they expand their operations on the Space Coast.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will service high-profile clients, including NASA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and major defense contractors. Additional responsibilities include:

  Direct interface with Program and Project Managers, Superintendents, Subcontractors, other APMs, and home office Operations Staff (Accounting, Contracts, IT, etc.).

  Support the PM with including but not limited to; project setup, subcontractor bid packages, purchase orders, invoicing, certified payrolls, scheduling, document preparation and submittal, project files and documentation, attending meetings, taking and distributing meeting notes, assisting with project commissioning/closeout and provide other project support as requested.

  Attend construction-related training.

  Assist PM on-site from time to time as needed and occasional travel will be required

Skills and Requirements

Experience in a construction project management support role and/or B.S. Degree in a related field that demonstrates overall knowledge

   Understanding of construction terminology, practices, and site safety

   Construction budgeting and management practices

   Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications

MS Office skills

Comfortable with 50% travel requirement Experience with Procore, RMS, and/or Primavera P6

Experience with federal construction projects, specifically DoD/USACE null
