We are looking for a Program Engineering Manager for our FAST Labs Microelectronics Product Line. The Microelectronics team charter spans the full lifecycle from science and technology to production. We focus on wafer level and chip/module level products involving RF, mixed signal, and digital domains.

The Program Engineering Manager (PEM) will be responsible for program technical leadership; they will plan, execute, and manage all engineering efforts within their programs. They will monitor and drive engineering cost and schedule performance, while ensuring program technical objectives are met. This role will support multiple programs including proposal activities, research projects, development programs, and/or production programs. The successful applicant will bring a strong microelectronics design, production, and test background.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development and production of custom digital and mixed-signal ASIC designs

  • Work with Principal Investigators to advance overall technical skills and develop R&D expertise in the forefront of Advanced Microelectronics

  • Be the engineering focal point for all activity within their programs including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, engineering strategy and integrated plans on programs, engineering staffing, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management

  • Provide overall project technical leadership; plan, execute, and manage all engineering efforts within the project. This includes tailoring company processes and procedures to execute programs ranging from research to volume production

  • Partner and collaborate with program managers, functional engineering managers, subcontractors, customers, and factories to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved

  • Develop and monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope requirements, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained

  • Effectively communicate with clear, concise messaging to teams and leadership

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format , with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active DoD Secret clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP clearances

  • Bachelor s Degree in engineering or a similar field

  • 10 years engineering experience in the development of custom microelectronics

  • 5 years experience as a Program Engineering Manager (PEM), Technical Project Manager, or as a Program Manager (PM)

  • 5 years work experience in Mixed Signal & SoC development leading engineering disciplines through chip concept, requirements, design, packaging, functional test, production test, and qualification

  • Deep understanding of the full IC development process, including IC packaging approaches and wafer, die, and packaged IC-level testing concepts

  • Prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) working in an Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Strong understanding of the functional activities supporting chip development including subcontracting, package assembly, operations assembly and test, quality, etc.

  • Experience supporting new design bring-up

  • Experience bringing new technologies to production with demonstrated ability to systematically determine root cause for problems

  • Experience interfacing with foundries and suppliers across the microelectronics field to produce everything required for custom microelectronics products

  • Ability to coordinate technical project performance with program leadership

  • Able to support >50% on-site work in Merrimack, NH with potential assignments requiring regular on-site support to Nashua, NH or Lexington, MA

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s or PhD. in engineering or a similar field.

  • Prior experience in a product development environment; able to look beyond the immediate need to produce the right product for a larger customer set

  • Prior experience developing RF products or RF ASICs

  • Prior experience with field application support of microelectronics products

  • Experience leading teams (including subcontractors) across multiple remote sites

  • Experience in bidding and winning new business

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical research to large audiences

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
