Position Overview: ServiceMaster is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Floor Technician. The Floor Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of floors within various facilities serviced by ServiceMaster. This position requires expertise in floor care techniques and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Floor Maintenance:

    • Perform cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing of floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
    • Ensure floors are maintained to company and client standards, including adherence to health and safety regulations.
  2. Surface Care:

    • Clean and maintain different types of flooring surfaces such as tile, vinyl, hardwood, and carpeted areas.
    • Identify and address stains, spills, and other floor-related issues promptly and effectively.
  3. Equipment Operation:

    • Operate and maintain floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and carpet extractors.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
    • Address any deficiencies promptly and communicate with supervisors as necessary.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while handling chemicals and operating equipment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and maintain a safe work environment.
  6. Customer Service:

    • Interact professionally with clients and building occupants while performing duties.
    • Respond to requests and inquiries courteously and promptly, ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Floor Technician or in a similar role, preferably in commercial or healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent results.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
