Responsibilities

The Device Assembly Facility (DAF) Work Center Manager performs duties as the Primary Work Center Manager for the DAF. In this role, you will manage Work Window Coordinators in execution of the T-week process of work scheduling and execution. The Work Management Center Manager (WMCM) drives the implementation and provides oversight to the process of developing the Integrated Schedule for the facility. The WMCM will provide an integral part of the coordination of facility priorities and schedule development, through the implementation of the T-week coordinated schedule and execution process. These processes will provide an increased efficiency in the execution of activities through a more focused involvement in the coordination of multiple organizations performing work in the facility by providing assistance in the resolution of scheduling and execution conflicts. WMCM will perform process reviews and provide feedback for process improvement in the implementation of the coordinated integrated schedule and execution process. Prior experience with DOE Nuclear Work Management and/or Work Planning is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, react and coordinate resources to ensure that barriers within the facility are removed and that work is planned, scheduled and coordinated in an efficient manner with safety being the top priority.

  • Manage in a fast-paced environment and always striving for work execution process improvement within the respective facility and within the Work Management Center.

  • Demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities accompanied with strong written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources.

  • Create an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve issues.

  • Interface with Operations, Projects, Maintenance, Planning, and other support organizations to ensure that the priorities set forth by the Operations Facility Manager are planned, scheduled and resource verified to be executed in an efficient-safe manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 11 years of related and progressively responsible experience.

  • Must be comfortable leading meetings with various stakeholders and levels of Management.

  • Relevant managerial experience in Work Management, Planning, Maintenance in a dynamic Construction, Nuclear or Military environment is preferred.

  • The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada). The DAF facility is located in Area 6 in the forward areas of the NNSS.

  • Work hours for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).

  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age.     Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in10 CFR Part 707.4 (http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-idx?SID=14b1c770db022992d237769fbe9fc519&mc=true&node=se10.4.707_14&rgn=div8) , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Annual salary range for this position is:$121,326.40 - $194,126.40.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
