Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Technician in Merced, California. The successful candidate will be involved in various financial, statistical, and accounting duties within our organization. The role is crucial in maintaining the computer-based accounting records and assisting in the preparation of financial analyses and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of financial record keeping and accounting systems.

• Oversee the preparation and implementation of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Maintain payables, receivables, retirement, and other statistical records.

• Prepare technically complex statistical and accounting reports from various sources.

• Handle grant expenditure claims and deposits.

• Balance accounts and research errors to ensure accuracy in financial records.

• Explain regulations and procedures to departments and answer inquiries using independent judgment.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of employer and employee records.

• Perform miscellaneous tasks to support department and organizational goals.

• Effectively communicate complex issues with co-workers, management, and outside services.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other financial databases in performing tasks.

• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and due dates. Requirements

• Possession of a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Demonstrated ability to handle payroll duties.

• Experience in reviewing timesheets for accuracy and completeness.

• Solid understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
