JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21552 JOB DETAILS: The University of Wisconsin-Stout welcomes applications for two new Instructional and Media Designer positions with our Stout Vocational and Rehabilitation Institute (SVRI). The Instructional & Media Designer will design and develop curriculum, lesson plans, courses, course content, and media using instructional technologies in collaboration with instructors and grant project staff. Works to advance and support instructors\' teaching goals and to foster inclusive and equitable student experiences using best practices and standards. This is a grant funded position ending in July 2029. This position is eligible for full telecommuting with some travel necessary for grant project meetings. Work environment is determined based on the needs of SVRI and the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Official UW Title (Code) / Job Description: Instructional & Media Designer (TL061) RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions: Instructional & Media Design Provides pedagogical consultation services for instructors and grant staff on instructional tools and technologies, best practices for digital instructional content, and instructional initiatives. Designs and develops learning activities and course content using instructional technologies to foster inclusive and equitable student experiences. Works with grant and campus partners across pre-production, production, and post-production. stages of media development for implementation in courses and other campus initiatives. Applies project management principles to course or media design such as defining project scope, establishing milestones, and tracking progress. Reviews courses, media, or other learning products for quality using industry standards and accessibility best practices. Creates and maintains documentation on pedagogy, course or media design, templates, instructional technologies, and curates a library of shareable resources. Trains and supports instructors and staff to leverage technology and teach implement pedagogy effectively. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with instructors and grant partners to advance excellence in teaching and learning. Other duties as assigned. Marginal Functions Work in conjunction with Director of Education to coordinate project deliverables within the grant budget. Attend virtual SVRI staff meetings, complete required UW-Stout staff training. Some travel required. Other Functions: Demonstrate professionalism consistent with SVRI and UW-Stout Core Values. Five years of experience creating fully online and fully accessible instructional programs. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office and web-based learning management systems. Able to travel 3-4 times per year for conferences and meetings Highly Desired/Preferred Experience working with individuals with disabilities and providing appropriate accommodations.
