Eaton Corporation Internship: Digital Technologies Engineer - Menomonee Falls, WI in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division is currently seeking a Digital Technologies Engineering Intern.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary

Eaton’s Research Labs (ERL) has an Engineering Intern position in the Power Conversion group to support research and technology development in emerging technology programs. The job function includes developing digital technologies and identify design automation tool to incorporate power electronics modeling tools and expertise. Communicate complicated technologies in a clear and concise way to a variety of different audiences. A good blend of technical knowledge and is required to be successful in this position. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Technology Manager. This position is in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support advancement of state of the art digital technologies for power electronics, power systems, and power converter technologies, as well as supporting the identification of commercialization opportunities with diverse Eaton businesses.

  • Participate in technology projects by supporting teams (local and remote resources) and working with external technology resources (Business Divisions Universities and Customers).

  • Support global technology programs utilizing Eaton’s technology development processes including Business Reviews, and Project Reviews."

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering with special focus on Computer Science or Electronical Engineering.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (please don't round).

  • Relocation is not provided for this role.

Preferred Qualification

  • 1 years of experience

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Fundamentals in data science applications to power conversion and power systems engineering, including motor drive technology, drive/converter topologies, high-power electronics; electric machines and controls; electrification of vehicles, energy storage, and/or grid connected converters; alternative power generation and distribution.

  • Experience in modeling power converters and power systems will be a plus.

  • Appreciation for the trade-offs necessary to achieve designs that meet performance requirements and cost objective solutions.

  • Familiar with software and simulation tools such as C, C++, Java, MATLAB, Ansys etc

Soft skills

  • Good English communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

  • Experience presenting value proposition of new technologies
