Meta Product Policy Manager, Instagram and Threads in Menlo Park, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking a product-focused strategic thinker to join its Instagram & Threads Product Policy team. In this role, you will work closely with product and engineering teams to provide policy counsel and to design product policies to help build new products and systems with safety, integrity, privacy, transparency and expression in mind, while understanding core business priorities. You’ll accomplish this goal by working with a range of cross-functional stakeholders, such as other policy, product, legal, communication, design, and marketing teams. You will have a demonstrated interest in emerging technologies and policy work, with an understanding of tech policy, safety, and responsibility issues, including recent scholarship and relevant industry trends. They will also thrive in a fast-paced environment and share our vision of giving people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.

Required Skills:

Product Policy Manager, Instagram and Threads Responsibilities:

  1. Provide policy guidance to product and engineering partners that anticipates and minimizes safety and business risks, and is informed by an understanding of the evolving regulatory and policy environment

  2. Build scalable frameworks to operationalize a consistent set of safety mitigations across a broad range of products

  3. Partner with teams to maintain and further develop products to mitigate abuse, and design policies to keep users and the platform safe

  4. Work with product managers, software engineers, designers, lawyers, and others to help product teams address policy, legal, engineering, user interface, business, and marketing considerations

  5. Provide policy guidance to internal and external stakeholders on issues related to Instagram’s products and features

  6. Act as an escalation point of contact and manage internal communications for policy issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of work experience in policy, enforcement, or operations, with an emphasis on technology

  2. Experience working with product or technical teams

  3. Experience in Internet/social media, with a focus on policy issues

  4. Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  5. Experience with consensus-building, persuasive communication and managing multi-stakeholder projects

  6. Bachelor's degree

  2. Experience working at a Tech Company

  3. Experience managing incident response or escalations

Public Compensation:

$89,000/year to $140,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
