Cabela's Lead Maintenance Technician in Memphis, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Maintenance Tech leads maintenance team responsible for maintaining a complex facility which includes Retail Store, Conference Center, Bowling Alley, Restaurants, Museums and/or Hotel. Performs electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises. Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Supports corporate facility maintenance, energy conservation, and waste management programs. Directs team of Maintenance Technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Electrical repair; lamp changing, light fixture repair/installation, diagnostic capability.

  • Plumbing repair; pump and fixture installations/replacements/repair, drain cleaning, diagnostic capability.

  • Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning; basic understanding of commercial equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

  • Basic mechanical repair on tractors, forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.

  • Building repair; painting, wall repair, minor carpentry, floor repair, etc.

  • Performs periodic building operation “tune up” to ensure energy conservation and waste management efforts at the store level are consistent with over all corporate facility programs.

  • Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

  • Preventative and reparative maintenance to include electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry and masonry, cleaning, repairing and installing pieces, components and equipment.

  • Primary emphasis is on performance of a variety of maintenance tasks, rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.

  • Work is routine or follows standard procedures. Work is closely supervised.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma, 1-2 year vocational training or equivalent

  • Preferred Degree:Associates degree

  • Experience: 3+ years experience in maintenance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • High mechanical ability

  • Willing to work with and oversee the work of others.

  • Verifiable experience in maintenance related work fields.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly stands, walks, lifts and operates machinery.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
