Robert Half Tax Manager - Public in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

We are looking for a Tax Manager - Public to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. The role primarily involves handling a variety of tax responsibilities in the public accounting sector with the ability to have heavy flexibility even during busy season. The individual will be expected to manage and oversee tax accounting processes, ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all tax procedures and policies to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations

• Provide guidance on tax matters to clients, ensuring they are informed of any changes in tax legislation that could affect their financial operations

• Utilize skills in public accounting tax, CPA firm operations, and CPA methodologies to enhance the efficiency of tax operations

• Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant tax laws

• Develop and implement strategies for minimizing the company's tax liabilities

• Manage relationships with tax authorities and external auditors, and handle tax audits and tax disputes

• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and decision support

• Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

• Offer fully informed responses to queries on current tax practices and changes in tax policy

• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.

Requirements • Proficient in Public Accounting Tax with a strong understanding of tax codes and regulations

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a tax managerial role within a public accounting firm

• CPA certification is mandatory for this role

• Excellent knowledge and experience with CPA firm operations and management

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction and team coordination

• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle complex tax situations

• Ability to lead and mentor a team of tax professionals

• Proven track record in managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously

• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required, advanced degree is preferred.
