Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is in the healthcare industry and requires a detail-oriented individual to efficiently manage entry-level accounting tasks, reconcile payments, and maintain accurate records. The workplace is dynamic and requires interaction with various departments to ensure all funds are correctly accounted for.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process various forms of payments including cash, debit card, credit card, ACH, and check from all Health Services Division Bureaus.

• Review, research, and prepare Daily Summary Deposit forms for submission to the central Finance Office.

• Monitor and address deposit denials from the central Finance office, working closely with the Finance Accounting to resolve all deposit-related issues.

• Communicate effectively with management regarding collections and escalate deposit issues as necessary.

• Generate reports from the secure website on deposits and from the bank website for checks, and conduct follow-ups with departments.

• Evaluate and report findings from various reports to the supervisor.

• Ensure all funds received from Health Services Division Bureaus are correctly coded and posted to the appropriate accounts.

• Collaborate with all Health Services Division Bureau departments to ensure accurate accounting of all funds.

• Assist SmartSafe users with troubleshooting issues related to the safe.

• Provide support for travel activities and general office tasks.

• Perform any other related duties as assigned or directed. Requirements • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) operations

• Demonstrated experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately

• Solid understanding of General Ledger management

• Skilled in creating and adjusting Journal Entries

• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in using NetSuite software

• Familiarity with Oracle financial software

• Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting tool

• Experience in using SAP for financial operations
