Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant with a focus on Cost Accounting/Inventory in Memphis, Tennessee. The selected candidate will be instrumental in maintaining all inventory transactions and costs, reconciling daily cycle counts, maintaining general journal records, and providing support for monthly accounting period closing.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all inventory transactions and costs to ensure accurate costing

• Regularly reconcile daily cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy

• Maintain general journal records, ensuring entries are accurate and up-to-date

• Provide support for monthly accounting period closing, ensuring all financial reports are generated in a timely manner

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries

• Implement Month End Close processes in accordance with company standards

• Work with various software including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP for efficient accounting operations

• Apply knowledge in Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Cost Accounting for accurate financial reporting

• Conduct Inventory Accounting, Inventory Audits, and Inventory Analysis as required

• Perform Cost Analysis to identify areas for financial improvement and cost reduction. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or related field

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management

• Skilled in making Journal Entries

• Capable of performing Month End Close activities

• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Knowledge in Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Experience in Inventory Accounting, Inventory Audits, and Inventory Analysis

• Ability to perform Cost Analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
