Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Duties: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the transition and management of services/applications to production environment with deep focus on architecture, production operations, capacity planning and performance management. You will ensure sites and systems continuously and consistently run smoothly, optimally, efficiently, and reliably and implement effective 360-degree monitoring to ensure quick alerting of any problems in the ecosystem. You will also collaborate with Development teams to create new and continuously improve products, including planning, testing, and deployment. The Senior Systems Engineer will develop new features, scaling, automation and self-healing processes for sites and systems as well as identify and Implement code/configuration changes to improve performance and reliability as necessary. You will mentor development teams to successfully grow them into their roles as part of your team. Finally, this Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate and consult with the DevOps/Release Engineering team to help automate the end-to-end Operations of the applications/systems.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 5 years of software development experience, including:

• Java/J2EE

• Microservices and SOA

• Release Automation Engineering with tools including Jenkins, Jira, Puppet

• CI/CD experience

• CDN (Akamai)

• Designing/developing/supporting high volume online applications

• Scripting with Shell and Python

• Monitoring tools (DynaTrace, NewRelic, Splunk, ELK)

• Configuring and tuning Application servers Tomcat/JBoss/WebLogic and Web Servers Apache/Nginx for high volume online eCommerce systems

• Kafka support and maintenance

• Create high level systems design documentation including UML diagrams and API documentation standards using Swagger and OpenAPI
