Robert Half Senior Grants Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Description We are on the hunt for a Senior Grants Accountant in the MEMPHIS, Tennessee area. The role involves ensuring financial integrity and transparency in the management of awarded sponsored programs. As a Senior Grants Accountant, you'll be tasked with managing post-award financial activities, reconciling accounts, monitoring expenditures, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring accurate management of post-award financial activities for sponsored programs.
• Monitoring and tracking all grant contracts for timely submission.
• Maintaining clear communication with leadership and awarded departments regarding the status of grants.
• Regularly reviewing and reconciling invoices, financial reports, and accounts.
• Preparing journal entries as part of the role's general accounting functions.
• Conducting account review and analysis to ensure financial transparency.
• Overseeing expenditure monitoring to ensure appropriate management of awarded grants.
• Using skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries.
• Employing proficiency in Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks.
• Undertaking additional general accounting functions as directed, such as financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and variance review.
• Utilizing expertise in Grant Accounting to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation
• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is highly desirable
• Familiarity with General Ledger is a must
• Capable of handling Journal Entries with precision
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to perform Month End Close tasks efficiently
• Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Oracle is a plus
• Proficient in SAP
• Specific experience in Grant Accounting is required
