Robert Half Network Administrator in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Robert Half is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our IT team! In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of our entire network infrastructure. You'll ensure smooth network performance, troubleshoot and resolve network issues, and implement new technologies to keep our organization connected and productive.

Responsibilities:

Network Management & Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network connectivity problems.

  • Implement and maintain network security measures (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPNs).

  • Manage network user accounts and access permissions.

  • Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Stay up-to-date on new network technologies and best practices.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to users experiencing network connectivity issues.

  • Assist with setting up new devices and configuring network settings.

  • Troubleshoot user login and access problems.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.

  • Generate reports on network performance and user activity.

Project Involvement (optional):

  • May participate in network upgrade projects and implement new technologies.

  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless network integration with applications and systems.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a network administration role.

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and network troubleshooting methodologies.

  • Experience with network operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).

  • Experience with network security concepts and tools (firewalls, VPNs).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
