Job Description:

Material Handling Supervisor – Memphis, TN

This is an exempt level position.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications include education and or experience in supervision and operations.

  • Responsible for the daily operations in the seed line, meal and hull/pelleting departments.

  • Supervise operators and assist shift foremen and rail crew as required.

  • Support the food safety plan and reports food safety concerns to the quality representative.

  • Support the safety and environmental systems throughout the facility and report concerns to the safety and environmental coordinators.

  • Determines changes in the departments.

  • Attend daily production /quality and monthly SEQ training.

  • Review pre-load inspections.

  • Perform assigned duties as directed by the mill superintendent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage meal grinding, hull/pelleting, storage, loading and inventories.

  • Manage incoming seed, storage, conditioning and transferring.

  • Communicate daily with merchandisers on product production goals.

  • Work with maintenance to maintain equipment and order parts as needed.

  • Manage plant track and railcar maintenance and repairs.

  • Manage plant yard cleanup including all dumpsters and including any clean up contractors.

  • Manage rock and sand piles for road repairs and spill prevention.

  • Manage any cleanup crews. (pit, scale cleaning, etc.)

  • Manage plant radios, inventories and maintenance.

  • Manage front end loader maintenance.

  • Manage basic cleaning supplies and inventories.
