Aerotek Equipment Mechanic in Memphis, Tennessee
Aerotek is hiring an Equipment Mechanic
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on support equipment such as forklifts, generators, deicing equipment, fleet vehicles, tugs, golf carts, GSE equipment, loaders, UTVs, and trams.
Repair and modify equipment as needed, including performing minor welding.
Document completed work orders in CMMS.
Use computer systems to ensure adequate inventory.
Diagnose and troubleshoot various systems, including hydraulic systems, combustion engines, motors, electrical systems, and electronics.
Replace faulty sensors.
Essential Skills
2 or more years of experience with heavy equipment or vehicle maintenance.
2 years of experience in hydraulics.
2 years of experience in motor repair.
2 years of experience in electronic component maintenance.
2+ years of experience in preventative maintenance, electrical, welding, heavy equipment, diesel, and schematic reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
For lower level roles, 2 years of experience is required.
For senior level roles, 4+ years of experience within forklift, fleet, or heavy equipment maintenance is required.
Experience in heavy equipment is preferred; auto/fleet experience will be considered but must cover all vehicle components.
Experience troubleshooting electrical issues and electronics.
Experience with combustion engines and diesel, small gas engine experience is a strong plus.
Ability to read schematics.
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting various equipment systems.
Experience with motors, belts, and bearings.

Work Environment
The role is based in the vehicle equipment maintenance shop near the airport, but it is not part of the hub. The shop is climate controlled. The position is primarily for the 2nd shift, with hours from 1:30 pm to 12:00 am, Tuesday through Friday, working 10-hour days over a 4-day week. The dress code requires steel-toe shoes and clothes that can get dirty, with no vulgar or obscene attire allowed. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, Tennessee.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.78 - $48.04/hr.
