Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Memphis, Tennessee

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Memphis, Tennessee. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient accounting of funds paid to the organization, serving as an internal auditor, and maintaining the organization's accounts.

Responsibilities

• Handle the receipt and accounting of funds paid to the organization

• Serve as an internal auditor to ensure invoices are accurate and proper accounting procedures are followed

• Accurately apply customer payments to accounts and resolve payment discrepancies

• Prepare and post all payments received daily for bank deposits

• Prepare and enter all deposits, including ACH and CC

• Process returned checks and monitor bank reconciliation and ACH transfers

• Communicate with the sales department and customers to resolve payment-related queries

• Adjust accounts as needed and perform account collections

• Manually enter purchase orders and prepare regular reports for accounting

• Utilize skills in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Cash Applications to ensure efficient operation of the department. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and procedures

• Experience in handling Cash Applications

• Familiarity with accounting software and MS Office applications, especially Excel

• Strong understanding of the general ledger and financial reporting

• Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently

• Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Familiarity with financial regulations and accounting principles

• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions based on data

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness with a strong sense of professional ethics

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

• Willingness to continuously improve and adapt to new processes or procedures as required

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
