Robert Half Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Description Robert Half is looking to fill a Senior Accountant position on a permanent basis in the Memphis, Tennessee area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to perform financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements - Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Strong time management skills preferred
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP
Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)
Month-end Close Activities experience
Month-end Financial experience
Experience with Month-end Journal Entries
General familiarity with Job Cost
Command of month end closings
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Experience with ERP systems
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
