About the role The Manager of our Engineering Lab will manage a team of technicians within a laboratory environment, that provides support for the Engineering Department of Leviton's Residential Business Unit. The main responsibilities will be to manage the day to day work of the lab and provide product functional testing support, technician assistance to design engineering, lab maintenance and product assembly. Responsibilities Organize and distribute work to support the needs of the engineering department, including, Assembling prototype printed circuit boards and assembling finished good prototypes. Product functional testing including functional verification, testing in application, software regression testing, interoperability HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) and HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening) Resolve priorities and maintain throughput. Identify and resolve bottlenecks delaying completion of tasks Optimize test methods and equipment for accuracy, repeatability, and duration Identify and execute opportunities to improve test repeatability, reduce test time or reduce labor through automation Design and development of test fixtures General maintenance of the engineering lab including equipment repair, calibration, inventory, organization Be an expert on the use of all equipment and test methods Develop test procedures for new products Assist engineers in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and replication of product failures Manage operation of a HALT chamber Qualifications Must be able to read and interpret schematics and specifications Able to operate lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency generators, network analyzers Proficient in interpreting test results, providing data analysis and creating written reports Capable of creating technical / procedural documentation Knowledgeable in lab safety, test methods, measurement accuracy Effective communication skills, with the ability to delegate, hold others accountable and interact with all levels of management Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Good organizational skills Education & Experience BS degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology is a must Must have experience utilizing and instructing others in the use of electronics lab equipment Experience in product development testing Experience with automated testing 5 plus years experience in a product development environment Travel Up to 3% What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
