Grant Thornton Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) in Melville, New York

Grant Thornton is seeking a Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join the team in New York, NY, Melville, NY, and Iselin, NJ.

As the Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will play a critical role in supporting the CIO and ensuring the efficient operation of the Technology organization. You will act as a strategic advisor, manage key initiatives, and coordinate activities across the Technology leadership team. Your goal will be to enhance the effectiveness of the CIO and the Technology organization by providing high-level support and driving strategic initiatives to successful completion.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Provide strategic support to the CIO by assisting with the development and execution of IT strategies and initiatives. Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports to inform decision-making. Act as a sounding board for the CIO and provide insights and recommendations on key issues.

  • Oversee and manage key initiatives on behalf of the CIO focused on transformation of the IT organization. Liaise between the CIO and the Technology leadership team and make sure that initiatives are executed successfully, keeping the CIO up to date.

  • Serve as a liaison between the CIO and other members of the Technology leadership team. Facilitate communication and collaboration across the department. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communications on behalf of the CIO.

  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency within the Technology group. Develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance productivity and streamline operations. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and partners. Ensure that stakeholder needs and expectations are addressed. Represent the CIO in meetings and other forums as needed.

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced or Master's degree preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of related work experience in a strategic or operational role, with a proven track record of successfully managing technology projects and initiatives.

  • At least 10 years of experience in the Professional Services industry, preferably with one the ‘big 4’ firms.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with IT systems and infrastructure is a plus.

  • Exceptional leadership, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain outstanding internal and external relationships.

  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills. Ability to align initiatives with business objectives and drive organizational success.

  • Experience in developing and implementing processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

  • Consistent with the firm’s hybrid work model, this position will require in-person attendance at least two days per week, either at a GT office or client site.

The base salary range for this position in the firms New York, NY, Melville, NY, and Iselin, NJ offices only is between $198,700 and $298,100 per year.
