Job Posting: Software Engineer

Location: Melbourne, FL

Pay Range: $48-$56/hr

Top Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience: 4+ years in JavaScript or related programming (industry, internships, or academia)

  • Citizenship: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance upon hire

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design

  • Experience with SQL and/or relational databases

  • Proficiency with software version control tools (Bitbucket preferred)

  • Familiarity with Agile development tools (Atlassian Jira/Confluence preferred)

  • Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins preferred)

  • Experience in an Agile software development environment (Scrum preferred)

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other STEM field with software development experience

Job Description:

Join our dynamic software team to create innovative solutions for NASA, Space Force, the FAA, and various commercial aerospace clients. Our software supports critical aspects of space missions, including mission planning, real-time telemetry tracking, risk analysis, situational awareness, and autonomous termination. You will be developing mission-critical software using JavaScript, MATLAB, and other languages on Windows platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, and rigorously test software that is essential for mission and safety operations throughout all stages of product development and deployment

  • Convert customer and system requirements into robust, maintainable software designs with a focus on test-driven development

  • Uphold software quality through comprehensive requirements analysis, design and code reviews, and unit testing

  • Collaborate with Test Engineers to define requirements, design software and system architectures, and create test procedures

  • Plan and estimate development tasks to enhance performance metrics

  • Engage in technical reviews with government and commercial space teams

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production system issues with a strong emphasis on customer service

  • Utilize Agile development tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git) to manage tasks and collaborate effectively with team members, ensuring deadlines are met

  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing
