Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Category Management Manager to join our Communications Systems business and help to lead a team of Category Managers. The Category Management organization will focus on developing commodity strategies, optimizing our supply base, and fostering resilience. This group will work closely with corporate and other segments’ category management teams to synchronize efforts and achieve our strategic goals.
Essential Functions:
Lead and develop collaborative multi-region/plant/division team responsible for:
Developing and implementing spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, security of supply, supplier diversity, and commodity roadmaps with procurement/stakeholder collaboration
Research and benchmark current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges
Actively engaged or leading LHX NeXt initiatives with long term agreement negotiations, commodity data gathering and analysis, product or program design to value activities
Partner with team members on negotiations and develop negotiation strategy (approach, fallback positions, acceptable terms and conditions) through to closure.
Lead negotiation and completion of contracts with strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits across L3Harris and its affiliates
Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and category team members
Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks and find creative ways to overcome obstacles to maximize the achievement of business goals.
Identify and develop a roadmap to drive proactive development of unbiased value chain risk management recommendations which allow segment to effectively prioritize end-to-end investments.
Assess supplier and platform risks and develop the appropriate contingency plans. Actively support initiatives to bring risk insights into the overall decision-making process.
Partner with strategic suppliers and Engineering to identify key technologies and materials to enhance innovation and our competitive advantage.
Utilize SRM tools and provide sourcing leadership for the identification and execution of supplier productivity initiatives for key suppliers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
Engineering or technical background
Category Management experience
Project management experience
Supplier or Customer service interactions (internal or external)
Excels in a team environment - developing relationships and sharing knowledge
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
