Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

The Sr Embedded Software Engineer will be an integral part of our Electro Optical Infrared System (EOIS) Software Development Team. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles, and airborne platforms. Responsible for leading technical activities and completing these activities on time and within budget. Develop embedded software and PC tools including operating systems, networks, utilities, and Internet-related tools. Determine hardware compatibility. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Hard Skills

• 10 years of real-time embedded software experience

• Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)

• Linux and bare-metal implementation for embedded systems

• Experience with embedded device drivers (TCP/IP, UART, I2C, PCIe, etc.)

• Solid understanding of multi-threading/multi-processing concepts and implementations

• Strong development experience in C or C++ (3 years)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering technical field

• Active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently and under supervision

• Clear written and oral communication

• Regular reporting of progress and status

• Supports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Melbourne, Florida.

Work Environment

9/80 schedule. The team in Melbourne has hybrid flexibility but is in the office every day. The first 3-4 months require full-time onsite presence, and thereafter, a relationship and trust between manager and team lead will determine some work-from-home flexibility.
