Robert Half Bad Debt Operations Manager in Melbourne, Florida

Description We are seeking a Bad Debt Operations Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. The role focuses on managing bad debt operations in the healthcare industry. This position involves leading a team and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the operations of bad debt collections

• Develop and implement effective debt collection techniques and negotiation strategies

• Lead a team in a call center environment, with a focus on medical collections and accounts receivables

• Ensure understanding and adherence to hospital revenue cycle management practices within the team

• Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as HIPAA, FDCPA, and FCRA

• Organize tasks, multitask, and prioritize effectively to ensure smooth operations

• Foster a strong customer service orientation within the team, aiming for excellence in client satisfaction

• Leverage management and leadership skills to motivate and coach staff towards optimal performance

• Delegate tasks effectively across the team and ensure completion

• Communicate effectively with team members, both verbally and in writing, and maintain fluency in a Windows environment

• Utilize various software and systems such as 3M, Accounting Software Systems, CRM, Epic Software, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for effective management of accounting functions, accounts receivable, auditing, and billing functions. Requirements

• Demonstrable expertise in Accounting Functions, Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, and Budget Processes.

• Familiarity with HealthCare Revenue Cycle is a must.

• Proven track record in managing bad debt operations in a corporate setting.

• Strong ability to lead a team and ensure the smooth running of daily operations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with different departments.

• Strong analytical skills to assess creditworthiness and manage risk.

• Ability to develop and implement strategies for debt recovery.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.

• Relevant certification in credit management or debt collection will be advantageous.

• Proven experience in implementing policies and procedures related to debt collection.

• Strong problem-solving skills to handle difficult situations.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• High level of integrity and professionalism.
