JOB SUMMARY

The Contract & Bid Compliance Specialist is responsible for administering export compliance program activity. This person reports directly to the Contract Sales - Cruise Manager. Partners across the company to provide export compliance guidance and develop processes to ensure compliance. This individual will also respond to inquiries from internal and external customers. The main focus is to help Sysco customers succeed while achieving sales and profit goals established by the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance Specialist will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.

  • Respond to daily internal and external compliance inquiries.

  • Manage 3rd party compliance providers USDA, USDC, APHIS, etc.as necessary for destination markets.

  • Generate and validate certificate applications with appropriate compliance providers.

  • Maintain proficiency on applicable laws and regulations issued by various government agencies and translate them into business compliance best practices.

  • Follow established internal compliance procedures with active input for improvement to increase business growth.

  • Explain regulations, procedures, and policies to employees and stakeholders, as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or Culinary Arts preferred.

Experience

  • 1 year prior outside foodservice sales or B2B experience.

  • Preferred 2+ years of prior foodservice sales, B2B experience, restaurant management or culinary background.

  • 1 year of compliance preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Company insurability standards.

  • Prior Compliance experience

  • Ability to establish appropriate timelines and to meet project milestones and timelines

  • Analytical thinking

  • Time and project management

  • Excellent Verbal and Written Skills

  • Exports: 1 year (Preferred)
