Job Title: Welding Lead

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Welding Lead who possesses expert-level welding knowledge, skills, and abilities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG, TIG welding, and working with both aluminum and steel materials. This role requires an individual with the ability to read blueprints, mentor a team of welders, and manage training and certification processes for new hires and tenured welders.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and lead a team of 30-35 welders.

  • Train and assist in the certification and recertification of all welders.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to welders based on observations.

  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on weld machines.

  • Perform welding tasks when not engaged in training activities.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in welding and fabricating.

  • Expertise in MIG, TIG welding, and working with aluminum and steel.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.

  • Experience in a Journeyman/lead/trainer role.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on weld machines.

  • Experience welding to AWS D17.1 & D1.2 Aluminum standards.

  • Experience welding to D1.1 & D1.2 Steel standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with lean six sigma and ISO 9001.

  • TIG Welding experience is a plus.

Why Work Here?

the first of the quarter after 6 months of employment, including time with Aerotek. Employees receive a lump sum of 56 hours of PTO available after 180 days of employment, with continued accumulation of 2.15 hours per week thereafter.

Work Environment

This role operates in a clean, industrial manufacturing environment with a first shift schedule of Monday-Thursday from 6am-4:30pm, with possible Friday work as well. Our facility is equipped to handle a variety of manufacturing services, ranging from initial design to production and testing of various products. The physical environment requires work both inside and outside in various conditions. Employees must use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, durable pants, steel toe shoes/boots, hearing protection, safety gloves, high visibility vests, and other PPE as needed. The role involves considerable stooping, bending, walking, and standing, and the ability to lift and carry equipment/objects greater than 50 pounds.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Media, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
