Location

Ideally this position will be located at our project/regional office in Portland, OR. In lieu of relocation, required travel to the job site locations (Vancouver, WA, Medford,OR, Salt Lake City, UT) will be fairly considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the environmental permitting and design compliance for the project.

• Ensure that all projects comply with relevant environmental regulations, permits, and codes.

• Coordinate submittal, review, and approvals of environmental requirements for future construction in federal and state lands.

• Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.

• Assess the environmental impacts associated with project activities, and develop appropriate environmental responses, including permitting and compliance activities.

• Identify wetland and sensitive environmental areas for protection

• Maintaining project data tracking requirements.

• Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental costs at the project level

• Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communities.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Communicate internally with all employees on the project, other disciplines and departments, and externally with the client, contractors, and Government Agencies.

• Support client response activities related to environmental advice, non-compliances, and environmental incidents, which includes field visits with Client and regulatory agencies.

• Liaise with the client providing them design information, schedule details, quantities etc. ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting and compliance issues.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel and relocate as required.

• Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental science, engineering, or a related field.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

• 5+ years' experience managing design, permitting, and construction environmental compliance for large construction projects (infrastructure experience would be ideal) with a focus on project management and client consultation.

• Qualified Environmental Professional designation is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, standards, and best practices; to include NEPA/CEQA, WOTUS, NPDES, and SPCC.

• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.

• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.

• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.

• Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in environmental practices.

Base Compensation: $110,000/yr - $120,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
