Quarry Driller Trainee/Helper - Mechanicsburg, PA - 490185

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Job ID: 490185

Position Overview This position is responsible for learning the operation of a drill rig for the purpose of drilling holes at quarries in preparation for blasting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  * Responsible for own personal safety at all times as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality in all aspects of the job.  * Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.  * Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc).  * Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.  * Perform pre-shift inspections on all equipment.  * Train to operate drill in a safe manner in quarry operation.  * Assist in mobilizing and moving drill to different quarry locations.  * Proper use of handles to ingress and egress.  * Inspect drilling area prior to starting for safety conditions.  * Understand and adhere to all Government Regulations.  * Other duties as assigned.

Requirements  * Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check.  * Reliable source of transportation.  * Willing to acquire Class B CDL.  * Travel is required (not overnight).  * Able to participate and engage in the safety process  * Able to work independently with attention to detail.  * Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment.  * Able to respond to stressful situations and customers in a professional, courteous manner.  * Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to meet long-term and short-term deadlines.  * Able to work various times during day, night or weekend hours, at various locations.

Education/Experience  * High school Diploma or GED equivalent  * Previous construction equipment operation experience helpful but not required.
