General Purpose:
Provides work direction for technicians responsible for electrical, mechanical servicing, and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment, physical plant, and utilities in accordance with state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures as well as customer policies. Ensures that maintenance department objectives are met including project, cost, quality, and safety. Maintains inventories and maintenance materials and supplies.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and direction of assigned maintenance technicians according to cost and quality standards in the department.
Develop and implement training plans for technicians to enhance their skills
Schedule and assign tasks and/or work orders
Monitor and adjust staffing levels to ensure efficient support of plant operations
Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained. Posses a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to transmit that sense of urgency to the technicians in a constructive manner
Recommends and plans equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction
Work closely with the production group to coordinate work. Continually look for avenues to improve communication between the production and maintenance groups
Foster teamwork consistent with our company and plant Mission, Vision, and Core Values
Coach and develop teammates, utilizing the performance management system.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and promote all plant safety initiatives
Follow all DFA GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED, minimum five (5) years’ experience in industrial manufacturing environment
Previous supervisory experience preferred
SAP experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Solid working knowledge of electricity/pneumatics, motor controls, and building maintenance
Analysis of equipment problems, identify root cause to equipment problems, project management skills, technical reading, supervision skills
Experience with processing and packaging equipment and electronic control systems
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley Controls
Effective written/oral communication
Understand the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple tasks
Ability to develop strong relationships with all employees, supervisors and managers
Must demonstrate enthusiastic attitude towards leading change and implementation of systematic processes required to achieve maintenance objectives, which directly support manufacturing excellence
Must be able to read, write and speak English
