SUMMARY

Develop new sales opportunities, manages and directs inside and outside sales personnel to develop new sales opportunities. Reviews and develops quotation proposals. Drafts estimates for manufacturing as outlined in our customer’s request for quotation. Develops preliminary mold design and assembly concepts. Works directly with the customer to understand their expectations. Oversees inventory supplier management activities, which includes record keeping, pricing, purchasing & quality of goods and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Managerial:

  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and adhering to departmental budget.

  • Provides sales and estimating analysis, forecast and trend reports to management.

Sales:

  • Identifies target customers, creates strategy to capture business.

  • Develops new sales opportunities.

  • Creates and presents proposals to new customers.

  • A valid driver’s license is required and the ability to travel up to 40% of work week if needed.

  • Responsible for reporting on time delivery concerns for their customers to the President.

Quoting:

  • Solicits and compiles documentation to support quotation responses.

  • Ensures quotes are completed on a timely basis.

  • Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates,

  • resolve issues and provide information regarding the quotation process.

  • Provides technical analysis and consulting services, including product design, mold

  • design, molding, secondary machining and assembly issues.

  • Creates/directs Mold Specification Sheets, Budgets, Base Lines, and Sample Packets for

  • job release.

  • Reviews and approves quotes to customers.

Engineering Changes:

  • Performs required quote update activities created by Engineering Change Notices,

  • customer changes, changes in cycle time or material prices.

  • Evaluates Engineering Change Notices for possible quote update requirements and

  • evaluates control plans for accuracy.

Supervision:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Interviews, hires, trains, completes performance evaluations and oversees disciplinary actions,

  • addresses complaints and assists with resolving problems for department employees.

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all sales and estimating staff.

SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent; ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and sales proposals.

  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and vendors in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Must be computer literate and proficient with spreadsheets.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.

  • The employee is periodically required to stand and walk and is regularly required to use hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard.

  • The employee frequently will lift up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
