Your Assignment: Senior Systems Engineer

As a Senior Systems Engineer at TheIncLab, you will contribute to the analysis, design, integration, and modeling of complex systems-of-systems that include tactical networks, high-performance computing, command & control, data analytics, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), unmanned underwater systems (UUV), and other unmanned technologies (UxS). You will work within a systems engineering team focused on integrating advanced technologies like AI and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) into these systems, spanning tactical to cloud-hosted architectures. Your expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and systems integration will be key to ensuring these advanced systems function cohesively across various domains. As a Senior Systems Engineer you will bring additional experience and expertise that will enable you to effectively guide and lead work within the team.

You will design tactical systems, communication networks, cloud infrastructures, and AI-driven solutions for defense applications.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with system architects, engineers, and customers to gather and analyze requirements for integrated systems that include unmanned vehicles (UAS, UUV, UxS), AI technologies, and cloud systems.

  • Apply MBSE approaches and tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML, MATLAB, Simulink, and AFSIM to model system components and ensure seamless integration of unmanned systems, tactical networks, AI/ML algorithms, and cloud-based infrastructures.

  • Design systems that span across tactical, communications, software, and cloud domains, ensuring interoperability across all system elements.

  • Evaluate and compare alternative system architectures using qualitative and quantitative methodologies, providing insights to inform decision-making.

  • Support requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes to ensure alignment with evolving mission needs.

  • Travel up to 20% for system demonstrations and customer engagements.

Requirements

Clearance Requirements:

  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens

  • Applicants must possess an active Top-Secret Security Clearance (preferred) or be able to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering

  • Experience in system modeling tools and languages such as SysML, UML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or MagicDraw.

  • Strong background in integrating disparate technologies and cloud-based architectures into cohesive systems.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative systems engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience with systems engineering and integration, especially for Department of Defense projects involving UAS, UUV, UxS, or similar systems.

  • 3+ years of experience applying MBSE in systems-of-systems design and integration.

  • Experience working with Department of Defense systems and mission-critical technologies.
