We offer competitive benefits, exceptional professional development opportunities, and a culture of innovation that embraces diversity, inclusion, flexibility, collaboration, and career growth. If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE—and make a difference with us.

MITRE National Security Sector (MNS) and the National Security Engineering Center (NSEC) FFRDC is placing significant emphasis and focus into solving challenging problems that cut across all Departments and Agencies, Industry, and International Partners. As a systems engineering and integration FFRDC, NSEC fulfills the important role of assisting the DoD in solving its most challenging problems that require integration across the Services, other DoD agencies, the Intelligence Community, and the Interagency. Boundaries between these different organizations limit the DoD’s ability to discover how integration and collaboration could enable cross-cutting solutions and to identify and develop these solutions. The breadth of its connectivity, spanning warfighters and other operators, technology developers, acquisition offices, and the intelligence agencies, puts the NSEC in a unique position to help address this gap. This is an important way in which the NSEC proactively assesses capability gaps and needs by mission rather than by system or Military Service and focus on outcome rather than process.

This position will report to the DoD and Services (D&S) Center in MNS. D&S is charged with the mission to ensure our DoD sponsors’ and partners’ mission success. To increase the impact of the D&S Center and expand relationships with current and future sponsors, D&S increasingly tackles complex, multi-stakeholder national security challenges using a “whole of nation”, data-driven analytic approach. This “whole of nation” approach will demand D&S Center leadership to act as a bridge between MNS sponsors and partners in industry, academia, and allies.

There is a growing demand among our sponsors for strategic non-kinetic effect options across the competition, crisis, and conflict spectrum. This demand is evident in the expansion of work programs in Strategic Cyber, Strategic Economics, and Strategic Influence, and with key sponsors reorganizing to enhance the development of these options.

MITRE recognizes the need for a centralized focus within MITRE National Security to more effectively deliver integrated work programs, create common capabilities, and develop talent in this critical area. The proposed Strategic Non-Kinetic Effects (SNKE) Mission Center aims to fill this gap. Operating under an “Executive Agent”-like model, it will partner with MNS Officers, Centers, and Cross-Cutting Priorities, with a focus on integrating Strategic Cyber, Strategic Economics, and Strategic Influence to maximize sponsor value.

As the Managing Director of the Strategic Non-Kinetic Effects (SNKE) Mission Center, the successful candidate will lead a new, cutting-edge organization focused on developing and implementing innovative solutions to address complex national security challenges. The Managing Director will be responsible for shaping the future of non-kinetic warfare and driving the development and implementation of SNKE solutions by leveraging the power of cyber, economics, and influence operations to achieve strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be wholly responsible for the development of the division strategy, develop key relationships, and build a first-class organization that will provide the U.S. with innovative SNKE solutions. In addition, this position will be responsible, in coordination with partner Division Chief Engineer, for the development and execution of the work program. The Managing Director has accountability to the Vice President, D&S Center, for all aspects of the sponsor facing and internal division operations. The candidate will also work with the MNS Cross Cutting Priority Leads to ensure alignment of the SNKE work program where appropriate with efforts across the company in these areas to increase impact.
