Robert Half Lead Real Estate Accountant in Mclean, Virginia

Description We are in search of a Lead Real Estate Accountant to join our team in McLean, Virginia. This role involves overseeing a variety of accounting activities related to commercial properties. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the preparation and review of journal entries

• Conduct weekly cash analysis

• Address ad hoc reporting needs

• Review and create real estate accounting transactions

• Ensure the production of various financial reports and statements

• Understand and fulfill client requirements for accurate and timely reporting

• Prepare and supervise all aspects of advanced-level financial statement packages

• Coordinate and collaborate with the field and Account Management teams to meet client requirements

• Use Microsoft Office Suite and Yardi for various tasks

• Provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers

• Present information effectively and respond appropriately to sensitive issues. Requirements • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

• Proven experience in account management and fund administration

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, including advanced Excel skills

• Experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting software

• Demonstrable customer service skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Experience with financial reporting and financial statements

• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) processes

• Ability to handle and manage cash activity

• Experience in the real estate industry is a must

• Knowledge of ad hoc reporting and journal entry

• Ability to review and improve financial processes

• Demonstrable production skills

• Experience with expense accounts

• Comfortable working onsite as needed

• Ability to pass a drug test

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
